Opportunity of a different dimension
Tees Valley Regeneration is in business to create irresistible development and investment opportunities and to deliver sustainable and meaningful economic activity for the long-term development of the Tees Valley region.
We came into being in 2002 as one of the first wave of urban regeneration companies established by the Government across England.
Our shareholders are the five councils that comprise the Tees Valley: Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees; the Regional Development Agency, One NorthEast; and the Homes and Communities Agency, the national regeneration agency.
In 2003, we merged with the area's inward investment arm - the Tees Valley Development Company (TVDC) - itself a creation of the five Tees Valley councils. The team has had a highly successful track record and has spearheaded the creation of over 10,000 jobs and attracted over £270m of inward investment.
Now Tees Valley Regeneration combines the expertise of both companies and creates a single driver and catalyst for the whole Tees Valley.
The rationale for Tees Valley Regeneration, which will guide our activities, is summarised as follows: - Delivering development opportunities through effective co-ordination and partnership
- Restoring private investor confidence in the opportunities in the area
- Building on previous investments by the public and private sectors
- Working with other agencies to integrate physical and social renewal to achieve comprehensive regeneration of the Tees Valley area
Our aim is "to become one of the most admired regeneration agencies in the world". Our focus is as follows: - To deliver maximum private-sector investment into the Tees Valley through effective promotion and management of physical and economic regeneration programmes.
- To bring forward key and strategic investment priorities in accordance with the Tees Valley development framework.
- To accelerate the economic revival of the Tees Valley through the integration of major physical development projects with the other strategic themes of the Tees Valley Vision.
