1NG Limited, NewcastleGateshead's city development company, is a private sector-led partnership, will improve competitiveness in the urban core, through the delivery of a series of key strategic development and regeneration projects.

1NG has been initiated by three public sector partners - the two local authorities and regional development agency One NorthEast - but will be an operationally independent business-led body that uses private sector expertise to deliver city centre regeneration

This new body, 1NG Newcastle Gateshead (1NG), will be responsible for creating the Economic Masterplan and delivering key economic and physical projects in the area which will bring new investment and business. It will build on existing success and drive towards an ambitious future.

The three partner organisations (Gateshead Council, Newcastle City Council, One NorthEast) have committed themselves to develop and establish 1NG, NewcastleGateshead's city development company, with the objective of transforming the performance of the NewcastleGateshead economy over the next 15 years.

The Economic Masterplan for NewcastleGateshead will establish a set of interrelated investment priorities for partners and 1NG. 1NG will have an agenda to ensure that delivery, by itself or through others, is in line with these priorities, particularly for the major projects in the agreed area.
